James Carpenter Returns to Practice! RTR!!!

Alabama left tackle James Carpenter was back on the practice field after missing Monday's workout with what must have been a mild case of the flu.

Update on James Carpenter ...

“From an injury stand point, James Carpenter is not injured, he’s just sick, he’s got the flu, so we held him out today,” Saban commented. “He did practice (Sunday) night.

Starting right tackle Drew Davis, who missed Saturday's initial workout while sick, Davis was at his usual spot on Sunday.

Game Prep has Begun ... Bama Returns to Practice for Texas ...

Alabama's team practiced indoors Saturday in helmets and shoulder pads, avoiding the frigid cold while shaking off the rust of the past two weeks.


The Crimson Tide will practice once daily through Wednesday, when players will break for Christmas before reconvening Dec. 27 for four more practices. The flight to California will depart Tuscaloosa on New Year's Day. In the meantime, the upcoming days will be more like preseason camp. The focus will be on fundamentals and execution, rather than scouting Texas.

- Ingram shattered the Alabama single-season rushing record with 1,542 yards this season and 15 touchdowns.


- Ingram Averaged 118.6 yards per game and 6.2 yards per carry.


- Ingram added 322 receiving yards and three touchdowns.


- 1,865 all-purpose yards and 18 touchdowns this season.


- Ingram is a finalist for the Doak Walker Award, the Maxwell Trophy and the Walter Camp Player of the Year award.

Tailback Mark Ingram (hip), linebacker Cory Reamer (hamstring) and reserve tailback Terry Grant (abdominal strain) all appeared to practice normally.
