Domination ! Domination ! Bama vs Ole Miss ....
- Ole Miss crossed midfield only once in the first half.
- In the first half, Ole Miss quarterback Jevan Snead completed only 2-of-12 passes for 14 yards, and he had 2 passes intercepted.
- The Tide intercepted 4 passes and held the Rebels to 212 yards.
- Ingram finished with 172 rushing yards on 28 carries (6.1 average), and scored the lone touchdown of the game.
- Leigh Tiffin hit field goals of 25, 21, 22, 21 and 31, one short of the single-game school record.
- Snead eventually completed 11 of 34 passes for 140 yards to go with the 4 pickoffs.
- Alabama held the Rebels to 19 yards and one first down in the first half.
- Alabama has now held four of six opponents under 88 yards in the first half.
- The five turnovers against Alabama were more than half Ole Miss’ season total of nine entering the game.
- In the second quarter alone the Rebels had three three-and-outs, with an interception and a blocked punt, to head into halftime with one first down, 19 totals yards on 22 plays, and a time of possession disadvantage of 21:03 to 8:57.
- “This is the fastest defense, if you went from one through 11 (players),” Nutt said. “From corners to safeties to linebackers to defensive linemen, this is the best I’ve seen.”

Alabama vs VT .. Notes & Quotes
The only reason the Hokies matched Alabama for three quarters is because the Crimson Tide kept hurting themselves. (Source - ESPN.com)
McElroy was 15 of 30 for 230 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT.
Ingram ran for a career-high 150 yards on 26 carries.
Upchurch added 90 yards on 7 carries.
Tide finished with 268 rushing yards.
"We actually played better than the score is," Saban said. "We made a lot of mistakes, but we responded better to adversity than maybe we ever have." (Source - ESPN.com)

'Bama 2nd Half, "We don't play with the same intensity."
The Tide has been outscored 78-55 after the half, largely because of those three SEC games.
"We have to find a way to strike more consistency for 60 minutes in the game," Saban said. "That's going to be critical to us in the future."
The plays that really irked Saban were what he regarded as unnecessary penalties, including one in the first half.
That was when receiver Marquis Maze celebrated a 26-yard touchdown catch too much and drew a penalty.
"We keep doing stupid stuff," Saban said. "When you get a penalty for scoring a touchdown, please act like you've been there and act like you've got enough maturity to say, 'I'm a good player, I made a good play. Everybody knows it. I don't need to do all this (stuff) to get a 15-yard penalty.' Now, we've got to kick the ball from the 15-yard line. Selfish, and it hurts the team."
Washington was flagged for a personal foul for giving Snead a little swipe after he had already released the ball. It didn't lead to points but helped move Ole Miss from its own 15.
Saban said those type plays reflect a lack of discipline.
"If there's a common thread," he said, "I'd say that might be it."

'Bama AP #2
The Crimson Tide jumped to No. 2 in the Associated Press ranking on the strength of a dominating 41-30 victory over Georgia on national television on Saturday night. The No. 2 ranking represents the highest ranking for Alabama since 1993, when the Crimson Tide opened the season at No. 2 and stayed there for seven weeks before a 17-17 tie with Tennessee in Birmingham dropped the Tide to No. 4.
Alabama (5-0) was No. 3 at the beginning of the 2000 season and was ranked third for two consecutive weeks in 2005, but has been no higher since Gene Stallings stepped down as Alabama's coach in 1996.
Alabama had a little help from others as three top 10 teams lost in games this past week, then took care of the fourth by thrashing then No. 3 Georgia on ESPN Saturday night. The Tide's dominating 31-point lead at the half was enough to propel them past LSU and Texas, which won on Saturday, and Missouri, which was idle.
The win also garnered Alabama 21 first-place votes, leaving the Tide just 34 points behind top-ranked Oklahoma, but Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban wasn't prepared to lobby for a No. 1 ranking just yet.
"It doesn't matter where you are until the end," he said. "It's the only time it counts, does any good to be No. 1, is the way I look at it.

R.I.P. Dawgs!! 'Bama Demolished the "Black Out"
Bama 41 Dawgs 30
The Right Rev. Larry Munson couldn't be here tonight to deliver the eulogy, but we can guess at what he might have said.
Good God. They're just killing us. Killing us. Terrence Cody is occupying our entire offensive line. Andre Smith is mauling our defensive linemen. Glen Coffee is running through us like a 59-cent burrito. We're discombobulated on offense. We're confused on defense. And Julio Jones? My God. A freshman?
Who knew Alabama strength coach Scott Cochran would be so right? As Crimson Tide players stretched before Tuesday's practice, Cochran yelled, screamed and then, just for a few seconds, lowered his volume. "They're wearing black because they're going to a [compound adjective that would get a bar of Dial stuffed in your mouth] funeral," he said, not quite under his breath. A camera caught the entire soliloquy, and, naturally, it was given unto the masses through the magic of YouTube.

'Bama vs Arkansas Report Card
OFFENSE: How much credit for this blowout goes to Alabama's offense? Well, it's tough to complain about a unit capable of scoring three touchdowns on a total of 20 plays in the first half. The return of right guard Marlon Davis paid big dividends for an offensive line that mauled the Razorbacks most of the game. Counting his 87-yard touchdown sprint, Glen Coffee ran for 162 yards on his 10 carries, an amazing average of 16.2 yards per attempt. Overall, the Crimson Tide averaged 8 yards per play, a statistic that won't lose many games. Of course, it helps when the backs have so much space to operate in. As the offensive line goes, so goes this offense, but there appear to be more big-play weapons to hurt opposing defenses when the line takes care of its responsibilities. QB John Parker Wilson had some questionable throws, but he also fired a nice 26-yard strike on the game's opening drive and a beautiful, third-down, 25-yard scoring toss to Julio Jones.
DEFENSE: A barrage of big plays masked the fact Bobby Petrino's offense actually had some success, topping 300 yards by early in the fourth quarter. But quarterback Casey Dick's three interceptions — particularly the first two — put the team hopelessly behind. Alabama continually harassed Arkansas' quarterbacks, continued to do a good job against the run and won the battle up front, as evidenced by a goal-line stand to end the first half. This very well could have been a shutout, since each of the Hogs' touchdowns came on fourth down. Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban was not pleased by Arkansas' ability to convert on third down or a nearly 10-minute edge in time of possession. Yet on this day, his gripes seemed like nitpicking with a big game against Georgia on the horizon.
SPECIAL TEAMS: The kicking game wasn't much of a factor in a lopsided contest. Leigh Tiffin probably enjoyed booting seven extra points through the uprights after his dramatic struggles at Arkansas in 2006. Punter P.J. Fitzgerald quietly had a solid outing, booting five kicks for a 45.2-yard average. Return specialist Javier Arenas didn't work the entire game, but was angry at himself for fumbling a second-half return he had to pounce on to avoid a turnover.

David Wolke went 14-for-25 passing for 116 yards and a touchdown in his first start, while Tristan Jones caught that TD pass for the Hilltoppers (1-2). Bobby Rainey was the leading rusher for Western Kentucky with 11 yards on four attempts.

Tide had 3 Offensive Linemen in New Spots vs. Tulane
University of Alabama fans who may have been wondering what kind of difference junior left tackle Andre Smith actually makes got a clear feel for it Saturday night.
With the All-American lineman watching on the sideline due to a sprained knee, and senior right guard Marlon Davis (hamstring) joining him from the second quarter on, offensive line woes reverberated throughout the Crimson Tide during its 20-6 victory at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
“So we kind of lost our continuity on the offensive line,” Tide coach Nick Saban said. “I think the guys are capable of playing a lot better.”
After Davis left the game, sophomore Brian Motley came in at left guard and sophomore David Ross, who made his first career start, slid from left guard to right guard.
With junior Mike Johnson having moved from left guard to left tackle last week after Smith’s injury, the Tide essentially had three offensive linemen in new spots.
Even from the start, the difference was sizable, especially when compared to last week’s impressive victory against Clemson in the Georgia Dome.

'Bama Unimpressive in Tulane Win!
'Bama 20 & Tulane 6 and the numbers aren't good!
Saban always says you're never as good as you think you are, and you're never as bad, either. So, figure you split the difference between the two weeks, right? It's amazing that a team can turn in two completely difference performances in two weeks. So which one is closer to the truth?
Maybe it's too early to tell.
-- 73 yards passing.
-- Sacked 4 times.
-- 99 yards rushing.
-- 7 punts.
There were, of course, some positives ones. Before he was knocked silly, Javier Arenas went nuts, returning a punt for a touchdown and breaking the school's single-game punt return record by halftime. And the 6-yard run on Chris Rogers' scoop and score was a good thing for this team. So were Rolando McClain's 15 tackles.

Soon and very soon this Crimson squad will be your Worst Nightmare!
Now, we move on to the next game: Tulane.
But Tulane is a pushover.
After what Bama did to Clemson, they are going to mop the floor with the Green Wave.
"We are pleased and proud of the way our players competed in the game. They played hard and were physical. They controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and that was probably a real key to the outcome of the game. We won the turnover battle and had a few more explosive plays but the bottom line is there are a lot of things that we can do better and that should be the focus on what we look forward to do. We had some unforced errors on offense that we need to clean up on a discipline standpoint. We certainly could have finished some things a little bit better at times and that is something that we will focus on. Defensively when they did make plays we made some mental errors in terms of who we covered and making adjustments. Those are ongoing things we always want to try and eliminate totally. In another area that we need to do a lot of work in and improve on is special teams. We just didn’t do a good job in kickoff coverage. We had some young guys run down the field and we didn’t really cover the kicks the way we should have all night. We didn’t adjust and make the corrections that we needed to make. We made them sometimes but didn’t execute them the way we wanted to. That is certainly something we need to improve on. The number one special team for us (last year) was kickoff coverage. The challenge for this team is to improve, show we can play with consistency, and perform well week in and week out. The challenge is to play to our level of capabilities and make a mental, physical and emotional commitment to playing to our capabilities relative to what we do and how we do it. That is something we need to prove we can do. That consistency was not something that we have shown that we can do and certainly something we need to work on if we are going to try and be a team that plays with consistency in terms of the way we compete.
I applaud the performance of the Tide and remind all that good things are just ahead. Please be patient until those things come consistently. Roll Tide!
Also, I remind all others teams to watch out. Soon and very soon this Crimson squad will be your worst nightmare!

Terence "The Mammoth" Cody #62

The 6-foot-5 junior college transfer, listed at 365 pounds on the official Crimson Tide roster, weighed in as a true heavyweight nose tackle Saturday night against Clemson by clogging holes, drawing double-teams and generating a push up the middle to disrupt everything the Tigers tried to do.
Cody was an overwhelming force who allowed his teammates the freedom to roam and make plays by tying up two and three blockers with his massive presence at the Georgia Dome.
Cody was on the field for half of the snaps logged by the Alabama defense in the first half and drew double-team blocks from the Tigers’ offensive line most of the time he was on the field.

Alabama Punched Clemson in the Mouth
Alabama 34, Clemson 10
From start to finish, Alabama punched Clemson in the mouth, a result of far greater desire, intensity and determination. The Tide executed better, hit harder, fought longer, and ran better. Clemson lived down to its reputation during the Tommy Bowden era.
Alabama defense holds C.J. Spiller and James Davis to 20 rushing yards on 13 attempts.

"One of the Worst Defeats in Modern Crimson Tide History"
Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium was anything but, and could only be described as drab, morose and lifeless.
And that was just the weather.
The University of Alabama football team was even worse, playing flat and unable to overcome its own lackluster performance, resulting in a 21-14 loss Louisiana-Monroe in what has to rank as one of the worst defeats in modern Crimson Tide history.
Crimson Tide’s season as a whole, which not so suddenly has the familiar look of a tailspin. By losing its third straight game, and eighth overall in the month of November, Alabama (6-5) went from playing for Cotton Bowl bid next week at Auburn to wondering if it will receive a bowl invitation at all.

"Very Disappointing" - 'Bama falls to Mississippi State
Alabama couldn't hold a nine-point lead Saturday against Mississippi State, turning the ball over twice in a 17-12 loss at Scott Field in Starkville.
"Obviously very disappointing," said Alabama coach Nick Saban. "We didn't execute. Mississippi State did a great job today and they deserved to win. We didn't make the plays in the game that we needed to make. It is everybody's responsibility starting with me and the coaching staff.
"We had a critical turnover right before the half that was at least a ten point swing maybe a fourteen point swing. Regardless of all that, we didn't do the things that we needed to do."
Mississippi State would score its only other touchdown of the day in the third quarter on a three-yard run from Anthony Dixon off another Alabama interception to take a 17-9 lead. Alabama could manage only a field goal in the second half, a 50-yarder from Tiffin.

LSU beat No. 17 Alabama, 41-34
In a game LSU's fans desperately wanted to win to humiliate their former coach, the Crimson Tide's Nick Saban, Alabama looked like the better-coached team. Alabama stayed in a game it had no business being in.
"I was proud of the way our players competed," Alabama coach Nick Saban said. "LSU has a good football team, especially defensively.
They had seven sacks in the game and a lot of pressures...They have an outstanding team, but we didn't do as good of a job at executing the way we needed to, to be able to have success at what we need to do to get the job done."

“Thinking about all that just makes you sick when you lose a game like (Saturday),’’ said UT quarterback Erik Ainge.
Among the things Ainge has to get over was an interception he threw in the third quarter, killing a potential game-tying drive.
Earlier, Ainge directed the Vols to touchdowns on back-to-back drives to wipe out a 10-0 Alabama lead. A 2-yard TD run by Arian Foster and a 3-yard Ainge pass to Luke Stocker put Tennessee up 14-10 as the second quarter began.
The Vols, however, would have only a 45-yard Daniel Lincoln field goal to show for their final eight possessions.
Alabama opened the fourth quarter with a 10-play, 82-yard drive capped by Terry Grant’s 8-yard touchdown run to make it 38-17.
Leigh Tiffin added a 44-yard field goal to close the scoring. UT’s three-game winning streak and momentum were history.
