Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium was anything but, and could only be described as drab, morose and lifeless.
And that was just the weather.
The University of Alabama football team was even worse, playing flat and unable to overcome its own lackluster performance, resulting in a 21-14 loss Louisiana-Monroe in what has to rank as one of the worst defeats in modern Crimson Tide history.
Crimson Tide’s season as a whole, which not so suddenly has the familiar look of a tailspin. By losing its third straight game, and eighth overall in the month of November, Alabama (6-5) went from playing for Cotton Bowl bid next week at Auburn to wondering if it will receive a bowl invitation at all.
