Next Up - LSU - The battle for the SEC & #1 Ranking

The next game is so major that Alabama players essentially shrugged off today's victory as soon as it transpired.

Nevertheless, the Crimson Tide did what it needed to do today. It manhandled the Red Wolves in a sleepy atmosphere at Bryant-Denny Stadium, scoring in each quarter for the kind of solid victory that will impress voters and surely allow Alabama to hold ground in the BCS race.

And ... it did so without suffering a major injury.

We'll put a bow on victory No. 9 in tomorrow's Sunday Morning QB.

In the meantime, a couple of notes ...

- Saban said he expects injured nose tackle Terrence Cody to return to practice in some capacity next week. Saban wouldn't speculate on Cody's role, but did say that he doesn't think a player should lose a starting job because of injury.

- Tailback Glen Coffee suffered a minor bicep bruise that kept him out of the second half today, but said afterward, "I'll be ready for next week."

"It ain't going to be about me"
