Failure to Monitor. This one of the MOST Serious Charges a College Athletic Department Can Face

Allegations started during the 2007 football season, when five players were suspended for violating NCAA rules.

The rules say a student athlete cannot spend more than $100 dollars as gifts for girlfriends, boyfriends or other students.

One of the athletes had charged more than $1,600.

The university is being charged with failure to monitor, which is one of the most serious charges a college athletic department can face.

This is not the first time the university has been cited. It was placed on probation back in 2002.
