'Bama vs FIU Tid-Bits ...

- For 2/3 of the game, FIU held its own against the nation's fourth-ranked team.

- FIU wide receiver Greg Ellingson caught five passes for 92 yards and a TD.

- Alabama gained 516 yards = 275 yards on the ground and 241 in the air.

- Alabama held FIU to 1 yard net rushing on 26 attempts but yielded 213 yards passing.

- For the second consecutive game, Alabama allowed a touchdown on a kickoff return.

- Trent Richardson ran 15 times for 118 yards and scored 2 touchdowns.

- Alabama rolled up 516 yards in total offense.

- Greg McElroy set a UA record by completing 14 consecutive passes.

- Julio Jones (bruised right kneecap) and tailback Roy Upchurch (left ankle sprain) were lost to injury on the game's opening drive.

- "I really wasn't happy with the energy and enthusiasm our team came out and played with in the first half," Alabama coach Nick Saban said. "The focus in games like this is to improve. ... (FIU) played hard today and they took it right to us ... we allowed them to stay in the game with some mistakes that we made."
