Don’t hang the “system quarterback” tag on Greg McElroy. The Texan thrived in a spread attack while leading Southlake Carroll High School to a state title in 2005. Four seasons later, he’s reinvented himself as a play action passer who can take shots down the field. Unlike a year ago, I don’t see the Crimson Tide piling up 328 rushing yards against Arkansas. Why? Because McElroy will pass for a good bit more than the 74 the Tide put up in Fayetteville last season.
