Alabama (at large) vs. California (at large)
Two teams with at-large bids will meet in New Orleans. Though behind Florida in the SEC, Alabama may be even deeper than it was a season ago. There are question marks in the offensive backfield, but the defense is good enough to carry the Crimson Tide. If any team is talented enough to unseat U.S.C. in the Pac-10, it is California.
